We Can Insulate ANY older home!
Our process enables us to provide an insulation solution for any older home. This includes homes which are partially or inadequately insulated such as those built between 1960 and 1980. If your home feels drafty and is expensive to heat and cool then it is inadequately insulated! We have a solution! Dense-Packed Cellulose has a high R-Value of 3.85 per inch or 15.4 in a standard wall cavity. The higher the R-Value the better the insulation resists the flow of heat making you feel more comfortable.
Another factor that plays a role in your comfort is air infiltration. By packing cellulose tight into the wall cavity, air infiltration is dramatically reduced! Our process installs cellulose at densities between 3.5 and 4.0 pounds per cubic ft creating a virtually impenetrable barrier for drafts. It’s the reduction in drafts that will create a real upgrade in your comfort. This is all part of the Dense-Packed difference.
Starting in the ATTIC.
Increasing the insulation in your attic from R12 to government recommended R40 or R50, can reduce the heat loss through your attic by 75-80%. Even newer homes can have as little as R32 or less of effective insulation depending on builder specifications. The addition of Blown Cellulose is the best option. It's a natural choice that provides superior performance in the coolest and warmest temperatures.
MAIN WALL insulation.
No need to tear them down. Our process enables us to insulate existing wall cavities better than ever. A typical install is completed in ONE day! Cellulose installed using our process means we dense pack to provide excellent R-value, reduced drafts, and added comfort. Unlike other contractors, we only install through small 5/8” to 1” holes to minimize any traces of the work that was done. Depending on the structure, we can insulate from the inside or out. From the outside we will drill between the mortar joints or take off rows of siding which are replaced upon completion. From the inside we drill small holes through the lathe and plaster or drywall. At the end of the day, we re-fill the mortar joints with a matching compound and re-fill the holes in the plaster leaving your home much warmer, with very little mess!
Basements and Crawl Spaces.
Basements are quite often a source of heat loss. The options for basements are numerous; depending on your basement construction and whether the area is finished or unfinished. A great option for both finished and unfinished spaces is using the Dense-Packed Process. We can install our cellulose insulation behind mesh netting before you add drywall. We will complete any basement job by insulating leaky header areas with polyurethane spray foam, offering great R-value and increasing your comfort and savings.
